What is Kenshi?
Before we get into Kenshi 2, here is some background on Kenshi.
Kenshi is an immersive RPG developed by Chris Hunt / Lo-Fi Games. The game was initially released for sale on December 6th, 2018 after being in development for about 12 years.
Set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, Chris describes the game as “sword punk” and boasts it’s non-linear quest and progression system.
In just 21 months since its initial release, Kenshi has sold over 1 million units worldwide.
Chris and the Lo-Fi Games team have done an amazing job developing this low-key indie game, we are eagerly waiting for more Kenshi 2 news and release date info.
Kenshi 2: October 2020 Update
If you’ve been playing or following the development of Kenshi since its release in December of 2018, you may be well aware of another title on the horizon.
Lo-Fi games announced Kenshi 2 on March 20th, 2019. The game will be a prequel set 1,000 years before Kenshi 1.
The studio originally wanted to keep the project under lock & key until they could hold a proper press release, but decided to announce early to help clear up some confusion within the community.
There hasn’t been much more information regarding details or potential release dates since the announcement of the prequel almost 2 years ago.
The devs are still very involved with the original title and player base. The only thing we’ve been gifted recently was this short render of a Skimmer in Kenshi 2.
It was posted by the devs on their YouTube channel just last week.
Are you looking forward to the Kenshi prequel? Hopefully we’ll get fresh new information or a potential release date soon.
