If you are an avid player of Minecraft then you should be familiar with seeds. Seeds are the numeric codes used to randomly generate Minecraft worlds.
In this article we’ll show you how to find the seed of any Minecraft world (single or multiplayer).
Finding the Seed – Java Edition
You can find the seed of a single player Java Edition Minecraft world by opening the commands console in game & typing /seed.
If the command does not work you may need to enable cheats first so that you can access the command line.
This will instantly show you the numeric code in the chat window for the particular world that you are playing on. You can now send this seed to friends or use it load a clean copy in the future.
If you are on a multiplayer world this is not possible. You will need to get the seed from the world / server owner or you need to be an admin to access the /seed command.
Finding the Seed – Bedrock Edition
Finding the seed in Bedrock Editions of Minecraft is a little bit different than the Java Edition. The command /seed will not work on Bedrock.
You will need to visit the world settings from the main menu & edit your game settings. Here you can find the seed to your single player Minecraft.
