How to Summon a Giant Slime in Minecraft

minecraft giant slime command

You can summon a Giant Slime in Minecraft creative mode using the chat window / command line & few simple lines of code.

What is a Giant Slime?

The Giant Slime in Minecraft is basically the same as a regular Slime but 100x larger & scarier to deal with.

It is not an official mob in Minecraft & can only exist in creative mode. This is also not a mod & is doable by anybody as long as you understand some code.

Things to Know About the Giant Slime

minecraft giant slime command java

The Giant Slime is 100×100 blocks & takes up a huge portion of the map. It covers structures, villages, & anything you’ve built that might be in the way.

The huge hitbox that this Slime has makes it impossible for any mobs to pass through it. If a Giant Slime is placed on a village, the villagers will not be able to return to their homes.

Because the Slime is so big, it has a hard time detecting players on the ground. So even though the Giant Slime can 1-hit you, it won’t because it won’t notice you.

It is hard to keep up with it as it moves. I can jump 10-20 blocks at a time in any direction. Even in creative mode it’s very hard to chase down & easy to lose.

Summoning a Giant Slime (Java Edition Only)

Summoning the Giant slime is pretty easy if you are familiar with Minecraft command lines. This command only works on Java Edition. Sorry PE & Bedrock players.

First join a creative game & find a location that is big enough to spawn the Giant Slime. You can spawn it anywhere, but it may get stuck if it’s not flat.

Tip: Make sure you have cheats turned on in your world settings.

Here is how you summon the Giant Slime:

minecraft giant slime command
  • In the chat window type /summon slime ~ ~ ~ {Size:100}
  • If you want to make it smaller, change the number in size to whatever you want.
/summon slime ~ ~ ~ {Size:100}

Typing the command correctly will spawn a Giant Slime right on top of you in your current location.

It is possible that your computer wont be able to handle the size & it may crash or freeze the game. If this happens try making the Slime smaller until it doesn’t crash anymore.

Since it is so huge & glitchy, the only way to kill the Giant Slime is to use the following command in the command line.

/kill @e[type=slime,limit=1,sort=nearest]
