Follow the steps & tips below to locate diamonds quickly.

Step 1 – Find Clay in Swamp Biomes

Step 2 – Choose a Clay Patch & Mark the Center

Once you have discovered an area filled with clay patches it’s time to mark them for digging.

Find the middle of the clay patch & mark the center of it by mining the block away. A shovel will work best for clearing the clay.

Step 3 – Lining Up the Dig Spot

Enable visible chunk borders in your game by pressing F3+G. This is an important step for locating diamonds.

Go down to the clay patch you marked & line up with the center hole while facing perfectly south.

Step 4 – Using Math to Find the Dig Spot

While still facing south count out & place six blocks in a line going south directly next to the hole that you marked.

Place six blocks down & on the seventh block begin digging straight down.

Step 5 – Mine Down & Look for Diamonds

On the seventh block begin mining straight down. There is an 88% chance that you will find diamonds in the diamond layer each time that you repeat this process.

If you don’t find diamonds then you will need to mine in the center of the clay patch instead of seven blocks out. Each seed is different.

Note: If counting to seven blocks will take you outside of the current chunk, go to the opposite side & continue counting from there. This is why we had you enable chunk borders.
