Deepwoken is a permadeath, anime-style experience that offers a highly customizable magic system called mantras, which can be changed or enhanced by using modifiers and sparks.
In this guide, we will go through all of the known mantra modifiers and sparks, what their effects are ways to obtain them.
What Are Mantra Modifiers and Sparks?
Mantra Modifiers and Sparks allow you to modify, enhance or augment your mantras. Each modifier offers a unique attribute to improve your mantra, and are mainly found by gripping (killing) enemies, and in chests.
Modifiers can be used on any type of mantra, while sparks can only be used with specific mantras.
Deepwoken Mantra Modifiers

Mantra modifiers allow you to add up to three modifiers to a mantra, including their weaker version (six in total.) The more modifiers that are used, the higher your Ether cost is going to be.
Cloudstone
Cloudstone increases your mantra size or quantity, such as making beam-styled moves larger.
This modifier can be obtained from bandit NPC drops. Bandits that drop this item are found all throughout Erisia and are normally sitting by a campfire. They can be defeated with an M1 combo and grip, and are relatively easy to take out.
Stratus Stone
This modifier is the upgraded version of Cloudstone.
Stratus Stone can be found as a drop from Sharko monsters, which are located in The Depths, or in a cave in Erisia called The Viper’s Jaw.
To reach The Viper’s Jaw, exit the town’s gates and take a left. Following along the beach you will find an entrance with red grass and red-leafed trees. Then, take two lefts, go up a ledge of stairs, and then follow the path to the cave.
It is recommended to have at least 10 agility before taking on the Sharkos.
Crystal Lens
This modifier has the ability to increase your mantra’s range, giving your attacks a wider reach.
Crystal Lens can be obtained from regular drops, such as chests and bandits, and is not considered difficult to obtain.
Perfect Lens
This modifier is the upgraded version of the Crystal Lens.
The Perfect Lens is obtained from bandit drops or chests and is not considered difficult to obtain.
Aeon Logstone
This modifier makes mantra effects last longer.
The Aeon Logstone is a rare drop that is obtained from bandit drops in Lower Etrea.
Eternal Logstone
This modifier is the upgraded version of the Aeon Logstone.
There is currently no information on how it is obtained.
Drift Shard
This modifier makes projectile mantras move faster or speeds up your mantra casting ability.
The Drift Shard is obtainable from bandit drops all over Erisia.
Rush Shard
This modifier is the upgraded version of the Drift Shard.
There is currently no information on how it is obtained.
Amnesic Driftwood
This modifier has the ability to remove all existing modifiers on a mantra.
It is reported to be a drop from Human NPCs throughout Erisia and is easy to obtain.
Glass Stone
This modifier is unique in its ability to make projectiles transparent, although it is reported that the animation effects upon hitting the target do not turn transparent.
Glass Stone is obtained by combining a Cloud Stone and a Crystal Lens together via crafting.
Magnifying Stone
This modifier is reported to be the same as Glass Stone, however, not much other information is known.
When a Stratus Stone and a Perfect Lens are combined, you are able to gain a Magnifying Stone.
Vibrant Gem
A useful modifier that intensifies elemental effects, making a fire mantra hotter and giving ice more freezing power.
Vibrant Gems are dropped by Golems and Sharkos, and are moderately difficult to obtain due to Depths monsters being more difficult to defeat than regular monsters.
Deepwoken Sparks

Sparks are special modifiers that only work with specific mantras.
Magnet Spark
This modifier is compatible with Electric Blade, Jolt Grab, Spark Swap, and Flame Blind. It also has the ability to make some projectile mantras homing on their targets.
Electric Blade: Magnet Spark adds an extra teleporting slash at the end of the move.
Jolt Grab: Magnet Spark makes this move a teleporting attack.
Spark Swap: It is compatible, but has no obvious effect.
Round Spark
This modifier is compatible with Ice Eruption and makes Area of Effect mantras a circle, such as turning Ice Eruption’s hitbox into a circle.
Blast Spark
This modifier is compatible with Lightning Clones and Shadow Gun. It also gives the compatible mantras an explosive effect.
Lightning Clones: Blast Spark makes the clones explode when they die.
Shadow Gun: Blast Spark increases the laser number from one to twenty.
Flame Repulsion: Blast Spark is compatible, but has no obvious effect.
Reversal Spark
This modifier is compatible with Lightning Impact, Flame Leap, Tornado, Air Force, Gale Punch, Revenge, and Ice Chains. It has the ability to reverse the effect of a mantra. For example, if this is used on Air Force, the mantra will pull targets in instead of pushing them away.
Multiplying Spark
This modifier is compatible with Wind Gun and Shadow Gun. It has the ability to increase the number of hits. It can be obtained from bandit drops, chests, and Mudskippers.
Wind Gun: Multiplying Spark augments this mantra by turning the attack into a shotgun.
Shadow Gun: Multiplying Spark turns this mantra into a Cero-styled beam.
Spring Spark
It is unclear which mantras this modifier is compatible with. It has the ability to increase the effects of mobility moves, such as increasing the height of the Flame Leap mantra. It is unclear how to obtain this modifier.
Tornado Spark
This modifier is compatible with the Dark Blade mantra. It has the ability to make the last slash a spinning attack, adding a spin to the end of the mantra. It is unclear how to obtain this modifier.
Haunting Stone
It is unclear which mantras this modifier is compatible with, or what its ability is.
