See the image below for the crafting recipe & all materials you can use to create a Campfire.

Campfire Uses

Campfires can be used to cook food, as a light source or even as a smoke signal.

There is also a variant of the Campfire called a Soul Campfire which does the same thing but emits a blue flame.

  • Cooking – You can cook up to 4 pieces of food in the Campfire at any time. Items take 600 ticks (30 seconds) to cook which is slower than a smoker or furnace.
  • Smoke Signals – If you place a hay bale below a Campfire it will become a signal fire which emits smoke particles up to 24 blocks high.
  • Light Source – Just like a torch emits light the Campfire emits a light level of 15. One more than the 14 the torch emits.
  • Bees / Honey – Placing a Campfire underneath a beehive allows you to harvest honeycomb or honey bottles without provoking the bees.

Campfires also do damage to any mobs that walk through it.
