Everything changed when… I spammed the A button and tried to beat up Zuko.

It’s finally happening y’all! The beloved Nickelodeon American anime Avatar: The Last Airbender is receiving a fighting game from Maximum Entertainment in partnership with Paramount Consumer Products.

The timing of this announcement couldn’t be better with the upcoming Netflix live-action adaptation (which is shaping up to be a hell of a lot better than the M. Night Shyamalan disaster).

Currently, there is not a lot of info about the upcoming game other than the fact that it is in development. Whether it will feature a classic lateral fighting style like Street Fighter or it will have the feeling of a 3D arena like Tekken.

Or perhaps we’ll get some chaotic high-flying action reminiscent of the Dragon Ball Budokai series. I’d prefer a Super Smash rip-off where I can air scoot around the air and smack people off the stage with his long stick. Sorry, Airbending Staff.

It will also be interesting to see if the game sticks to the original series characters or if it branches out into the critically acclaimed sequel series The Legend of Korra.

The game will be available for early access in 2025, which is a ways away. For now, we’ll have to be satisfied with watching old episodes and the new Netflix series, which premieres later this month on February 22nd.
