A prominent leaker with a long history of accurate leaks from ATLUS and SEGA has stated that two entries in the Persona series are currently in the works.
This news might come as a shocking development for the fans of the latter game as this game hasn’t received much time in the spotlight, unlike Persona 3, 4, and 5.
This news comes from a leaker known as Midori. The leaker has accurately predicted a lot of ATLUS news. For those not in the know, this leaker has accurately expected the news of a Persona 3 Remake (AKA Persona 3 Reload) and a tactical spin-off of Persona 5 (AKA Persona 5 Tactica).
As such, their predictions have some credibility. Midori responded to a fan over on Twitter (X) when asked whether Persona 4 and Persona 2 would be getting a remake. The leaker claimed that both games are currently in the works at ATLUS.
Persona 2 is one of the lesser-known Persona installments. The game first came out on the original PlayStation, and it was divided into two installments: Persona 2 – Innocent Sin and Persona 2 – Eternal Punishment.
The games are relatively well-known in the Persona fanbase as they have been said to be mistreated despite their status as classics from the 5th generation of consoles.
Bringing Persona 2 to modern systems with the treatment that Persona 3 Reload received would be a welcome addition to the series. After all, the Persona 3 remake has seen a lot of unique elements from its re-releases in a unique combination that has seen a relatively successful launch.
Of course, a new translation of Persona 2 would change some of the game’s content to fit current-day sensibilities. So, players shouldn’t expect the games to be entirely accurate for their original iterations. Further details regarding these remakes are still unknown.
